Is your kitchen extract due a clean?

Answer three questions for a guide based on TR19, the standard your insurer works to. Then book an inspection and we'll confirm it on site.

  • Canopy, filters, ductwork and fan, cleaned to TR19
  • A dated certificate for your insurer after every clean
  • Nights and early mornings, around your service

What your insurer will ask to see.

After every clean you get photos of the work, an itemised invoice, and a dated TR19 certificate showing how much grease was removed and when the next clean is due.

  • Grease thickness measured before and after, in microns
  • Each part of the system listed, with access panels noted
  • Signed by the technician who inspected and cleaned it

Canopy to fan, every time.

Grease doesn't stop at the filters. Scroll through a clean and watch it come out of each part of the system.

  1. 01 / 05

    Sheeted first

The cookline is wrapped in polythene and clamped before any cleaning starts.

  2. 02 / 05

    Canopy and filters

Filters out, canopy degreased. It's the first place grease collects.

  3. 03 / 05

    Ductwork

Every metre brushed, scraped and vacuumed through the access panels.

  4. 04 / 05

    Fan housing and blades

Grease in the fan makes it work harder, and it can catch fire.

  5. 05 / 05

    Measured and certified

Grease measured again, photos taken, certificate issued.

The rules your system has to meet.

Insurers and fire risk assessors often ask for proof that the extract is cleaned. Your certificate is that proof.

Questions before you book.

What time will you come?

Whenever suits the site: days, nights or early mornings. Most cleans take 5 to 16 hours, so they're usually done before you open or after you close.

Do you need access to the roof?

Usually, because the fan is often on the roof or an outside wall. Someone needs to let us in. If scaffolding is needed, we tell you at the inspection.

How soon will I get a price?

Within 12 hours of the inspection, priced on each part of the system and the length of ducting.

Will the certificate satisfy my insurer?

It's a TR19 certificate with before and after grease readings, which is what insurers and fire risk assessors ask for. Check your own policy wording too.

Book an inspection.

Under an hour on site, usually before service. A written price within 12 hours. £150 + VAT on its own, or included in any plan.

Request received. This is a demo, so nothing was sent. On the real site it goes straight to the office.
